Cotton Wedding Anniversary 棉婚

It’s our second year of marriage. We were in Penang for the weekend, but did not celebrate it. We were so tied up with the relatives and couldn’t find time for our own selves.

Time zooms past and here we are, 2 years have passed since the day we signed on the dotted line. What has changed? Except that I am a missus, nothing pretty much has changed. I still enjoy the freedom I used to enjoy and we still quarrel at times. :)

In Chinese, second year of marriage is also known as Cotton Wedding (棉婚), slightly better than the first year, Paper Wedding (纸婚). It means the marriage is getting stronger year by year.

We did not exchange anniversary gifts, in fact, didn’t really plan to celebrate it. Hahaha. This is only 2nd year and we are already not celebrating. I wonder if we would still remember the date after 10 or 20 years.

Now, we are impatiently waiting for the next phase of our marriage life, to build our home together. We foresee there’s going to be financial difficulties that we have to overcome, but come what may, we sure will have to get through it. The lucky thing is, we have each other, we’re not alone.

It is already the end of the year 2010. Let’s hope we have a better 2011.

My dear (not sure if you’d be reading this), here’s wishing you a happy anniversary and thank you for everything.
